MUSEO MAGAZINE

PROBLEM SPACE

I designed a magazine brand that focused on Philippine art, not only because of my heritage, but also because there is a lack of representation of Philippine art & design within this community.

PROCESS

My research and process consisted of understanding the art history of the Philippines and then learning what artists and art work have made impacts on the Philippine community. Then I developed a moodboard, brand guidelines, sketches for layout and lastly the animation process.

AUDIENCE

  • People who have an interest in art

  • People who have Philippine heritage

  • People who are interested in other cultures

HOW MIGHT WE?

How might I create a brand that highlights and brings to life art & design within the Philippines?

SOLUTION

My solution was to create a magazine brand that would be sold in museum shops representing original Philippine art, and then bringing the work to life through animation. I designed animations that show the viewer what the subjects within the art may have been doing, experiencing, or how the environment within the scene could’ve been changing throughout the day.

My design consists of brand guidelines, collateral that could be sold in the museum shop, and animated & non-animated editorial spreads.

BRAND GUIDELINES

At Museo, we pride ourselves on giving the community an opportunity to experience the art & design of cultures from all around the world. Our museum prioritizes diversity and the preservation & promotion of valued and respected works from a variety of artists and designers.
